Women in Agriculture
Currently in West Virginia, over 30% of farm operators are female. Women agripreneurs can depend on WVU Extension to provide up to date resources, research, and assistance in every area of farm operation.
Tucker County served as a pilot site for Annie’s Project in 2013 and 2014, with plans for additional classes in the future.
What is Annie’s Project? * A localized approach to empowering women in agriculture. Annie’s Project provides the training, resources and networking opportunities for West Virginia women to help build viable, efficient and sustainable farm businesses.
Annie’s Classes consist of 6 weekly sessions, and are held each year in several counties. Tucker County offers Annie’s Levels 1 and 2 each year. Please contact the WVU Extension Office for registration information.
